Praziquantel is a broad-spectrum anthelminthic used for treatment
of echinococcosis, difilobotrioze, dipilidoze, gidatigeroze, multitseptoze and orientobilhartsioze in animals.
Mechanism of drug’s action is inhibition of fumarate treduktase, inappropriate cell membrane permeability and neuromuscular innervations resulting in paralysis and worms death.
Preparation has a low toxicity to warm-blooded animals (LD50 for mice by oral administration is 2650 mg / kg). It does not have any local irritation, embryotoxic, teratogenic and sensitizing effects in recommended doses.
